Who it's for
Legal residents in Spain who want to bring their immediate family to the country.
Who CAN'T apply for it
- If you've been in Spain for less than 1 year, or have less than 1 year left on your current permit, you can't reunite family yet — unless you already hold long-term residence, which exempts you from this requirement.
- If your income doesn't reach 150% of the IPREM to reunite one person, plus 50% more per additional family member, your application doesn't meet the financial requirement as it stands.
- An adult child without a disability can't be reunited through this route.
- A parent under 65 can only be reunited for justified humanitarian reasons, not automatically — the administration assesses each case individually.
Typical documentation
Passport of the sponsor and of the family member being reunited
Both must be valid.
Municipal registration certificate (padrón)
Of the sponsor, at the home where the family is going to live.
Adequate housing report
Certifies your home has the right size and conditions; issued by the town hall or an authorized body.
Proof of sufficient financial means
Payslips, employment contract, or an employer certificate showing you can support your family.
Family record book or apostilled and translated marriage/birth certificates
Must carry the apostille from the country of origin and a sworn translation.
Health insurance
Only if your situation requires it; we tell you if it applies to your case.
EX-02 form
The official family reunification application; we prepare it for you.

How long do I need to have lived in Spain to reunite my family?
At least 1 year of residence, with at least 1 more year left on your current permit. If you already hold long-term residence, you don't need to meet this requirement.
Can I reunite my parents?
Only if they're 65 or older and economically or physically dependent on you, or under 65 with justified humanitarian reasons — this second case is assessed by the administration on a case-by-case basis, not guaranteed.
Can I reunite my adult child?
Only if they have a recognized disability that prevents self-sufficiency. An adult child without a disability can't be reunited through this route.
How much do I need to earn to reunite my family?
At least 150% of the IPREM to reunite one person, plus 50% more of the IPREM per additional family member. Reunited minors use a different threshold, based on the Ingreso Mínimo Vital.
